About Us

Opened in 1958, Knockbreda Primary School has been serving the local community for almost 60 years. The school prides itself in promoting a caring, family atmosphere and an inclusive ethos where all children are encouraged to reach their full potential.

Knockbreda Primary is situated on a secluded leafy site providing a pleasant working environment and great opportunities for outdoor learning experiences. Our bright, well-kept accommodation comprises of seven classrooms, two Learning Centre classrooms, a fully equipped after school room, and a spacious P.E. hall/dining hall. Recent refurbishments to the school have included a modern, purpose built library/computer suite opening onto an attractive outside learning space and a spacious multi- purpose entrance porch. We are very fortunate to have a wildlife garden on the premises which is maintained by school staff with the help of the pupils. The school is well resourced and all classes have computers, interactive whiteboards and controlled access to the internet.

Our pupils enjoy a broad and varied curriculum and are given opportunities to enjoy success in many areas. The children particularly enjoy speech and drama classes, swimming lessons, after school coaching in dance, dodge-ball and tennis and participating in our school productions to name a few. P5 – P7 pupils look forward with great excitement to their annual residential trips and every other class enjoys a varied programme of educational visits.

We are very fortunate to have a supportive parent body with an active PTA who raise funds for the school and organise events for pupils and parents throughout the year.
