In March, Primary 5 headed off to Exploris aquarium, in Portaferry, as part of their water topic. The children explored under the sea and took a closer look at the habitat of different marine creatures. They also had the opportunity to touch some flat fish and handle a star fish and clam. We also learned about the valuable work that Exploris do for our seals both in the wild and in the seal hospital at the centre.
After our visit to Exploris, we took a short walk to one of the oldest Methodist Church’s in Ireland,. Who kindly invited us to use their facilities during our visit to Portaferrry. This allowed us all to enjoy our packed lunches and learn some history about the Church. We received a very warm welcome, and while having our lunch we found out some interesting facts about the Church, before having the chance to have a look around. All in all a super day, and Primary 5 left me in awe with their behaviour and manners, as always.
