Our P5 class have just returned from an amazing residential at Lorne estate, Holywood. Everyone had an amazing time and the children were an absolute credit to our school and their parents.
Miss Fletcher is immensely proud of everyone, for their manners, their listening and most of all their bravery in staying away from home, being top sleepers and giving almost all the activities a go.
We were very lucky with the weather! The sun shone brightly for the duration of our time away; some would actually say it shone nearly as brightly as the smiles on the children’s faces, but Miss Fletcher says it wasn’t quite that bright 🙂
On day 1, we had fun orienteering and playing in the park before lunch. We then headed off in two groups to enjoy some zip-lining and Bushcraft (where we learnt to make fires and got to toast smores). In the evening we enjoyed singing and dancing around the camp fire, before some toast, hot chocolate, a story and bed.
Day 2 was just as jam packed with fun activities! Again, in two groups we enjoyed some team building initiative games and some crate building challenges (with more fun being had in the knocking down stages).
What amazing memories were made and shared between both staff and children. Well done P5, our trip to Lorne was definitely one to remember.
