Special thanks to Galactico Soccer for hosting our P5-7 boys team, in their final tournament of this academic year, at Avoneil Leisure centre.
It was yet another day of mixed emotions as this was sadly, the final game of football for our P7 boys.
Thankfully, it was another successful day for team KPS. The group stages of the tournament were very close and resulted in a sudden death penalty shoot-out being required to determine 2nd and 3rd place. After this, we progressed to a 3rd place semi-final against Glencraig Primary School.
The semi-final was a nail-biting end to end match that saw us create some fantastic chances. After 12 minutes of play and a wonderful goal from our captain Michael, we emerged as winners and progressed into the 3rd place final against St Patricks Primary School.
The final was again a fantastic affair between two very evenly matched teams, with both teams giving it their absolute all. After a solid defensive display at both ends it ended after 15 minutes in a scoreless draw.
This meant extra time and more sudden death penalties. Oliwier made 2 crucial penalty saves, leaving Michael to net the winner. Team KPS emerged victorious as overall 3rd place winners!
Mrs Fletcher and Mrs Melin are beyond proud of this group of boys. They gave it their all and showed amazing resilience and determination from start to finish. Well done boys! Shout out to our keeper Oliwier and our goal scorers Jude and Michael.
Special mention goes to our P7 players and also our player of the day, Michael, our captain!
"Michael you are a star, this year you have been a fantastic role model for everyone in the team. You have played some amazing football and led the team with confidence and composure; you have been an asset to team KPS. Thank you!" Mrs Fletcher.
Elliott, Kristian and Michael, what a way to finish your time with team KPS. Thank you boys for your dedication to the team, we will miss you. 🔵🥅⚽️
